Often it has been said that time waits for no one. Though we find ourselves on many occasions wishing for days gone by we know that in spite of those hoped for desires we are never able to
recapture what has already passed. For those who think that time wait for us, witness the reality of
how quickly 2022 itself is moving. It seems as if it was just a few days ago that we were bringing in this year of 2022. As you are reading this, at this very moment we are more than halfway through 2022. In just a short time we will be preparing to bring down the curtain on this current year. I found myself thinking that as half the year is behind us, where do I go with that which remains? If I were to use an example, I would point to the parable of the drinking glass of water.
As the glass of water sits at the halfway point, the question arises. Is it halfway empty or is it halfway full? Our answers varied. Answers that are based on attitudes,
experiences, and perspectives. For those who say the glass is half empty, there is to some
degree a sense of hesitancy. What if that which is to follow is more of the same? Questions that can cloud and at times be hindrances to the future. For those who say the glass is half full, theirs is with an expectancy that more is to come, more that in time will see the best that awaits them. Perhaps even to the extent that the half full is merely steps in the process of future overflow.
Even as we stand past the halfway point of 2022, the challenge for each of us is as follows: How do you view the remaining time in this current year? Is it from a position of half empty, ruminating on the specter that things will remain the same? Or is it from a mindset that the half full is the steppingstone to the expectation of the best that is yet to come? Our answers will rest within each of us, and the outcomes will reflect that course of action that we choose.
