January is a month of setting new resolutions. Everyone has energy and looks forward to momentous
year of execution and achieving. The atmosphere is positive at church depending on where you
fellowship your pastor also gives you a “Theme of the year” to get you going. If you go on social media,
there are numerous posts of the positive vibe to start the year. Whether you have a vision board with
your plan for the year or your theme written boldly in front of you in the office, what matters is whether
you look at the same post first quarter of the year with the same energy and maybe the smile you had
when you were writing it down on the 31 December night waiting for the fireworks at midnight. You
forget the challenges of the past year because you are ready to win in the year.
Whether your theme of the year was “2022 year of breakthrough” or “2022 year of winning multi-
million contracts” what you do when the breakthrough or the multi million contracts do not come along
determines who wins and who drops the baton during the race. Being an entrepreneur comes with its
challenges sometimes contracts do not come as planned, sometimes clients who promised to pay on a
certain date do not keep the promise. When the results you anticipated do not align with reality you
need to remind yourself of your initial commitment to the cause. Your passion will sustain you during
uncertainty. Passion maintains momentum.
“It takes a leader to create the momentum, it takes a vision to direct the momentum, it takes a
massive action to build on the momentum, and it takes self-discipline to sustain the momentum.”
― Farshad Asl
Entrepreneurship involves knowing what you want to achieve, setting a goal and working
towards it through tangible milestones. If your dream does not wake you up in the middle of the night
or extra in the morning and insight compulsion to take massive action, then you have a task not an
actual dream. Prayer gives you stamina to go through situations. Maybe when you do your quarterly
year review, and you realize you have not achieved what you had planned you feel discouraged, and
you lose focus whether to keep going or admit defeat. If you are passionate about your business and
you mix it with prayer you can reignite the motivation. Passion is not always obvious, but prayer refuels
passion. Prayer will give you direction on what to say yes or no to, Prayer will give you direction to know
who to say yes or no to. Prayer will energize you when you feel discouraged. Prayer will help you hold
on to the promise that you will win at the end.
To see the theme of the year manifesting mix passion and prayer and maintain the momentum in your
business and you will find Victory.
