Time has always moved without regard for our input, wishes and desires. It does so with a sense of purpose that causes each of us to make choices. Do we move in step or do we plant ourselves in those seasons of the past and say I will not be moved? Our answers to a great extent will impact the direction of our lives.

Change in and of itself is a byproduct of time. Time sets the stage and change then assumes the leading role.

Each of us is tasked with the challenge of fulfilling a role or dream that has been placed within us. The significance of each dream is such that it will call us to respond in different ways.

For some the challenge can be such that they are in a state of the unsure. Unsure as to what lies before them. Unsure as to what the future outcome may be. Unsure whether what is ahead of them, is worthy of a journey?

And yet for others they may say that though I am not sure of what lies in the great beyond I will continue to press forward. I will draw on those things within me that remind me daily to not be distracted and to say that the prize and reward is such that the journey only sweetens the achievement.

To Be or Not To Be. That is the question. To say that even as time moves forward and change stands as the agent of time, will I then remain in the presence of greater opportunities? Do I instead say that to be is to embrace the good as well as the bad on the journey? Do I say that come what may I will persevere?

Our answers as such are within. Our outcomes will be defined by our response. Our legacies will affirm that which we chose.

  1. Thank you for this. In my lessons I am being taught that we can somewhat predict what might happen and perhaps be able to somewhat shape our future in the desired direction. The fact that we can’t stop the future from becoming present tells us that we have to embrace this setup and be comfortable in it. Even though we might not be exact in mapping out our strategy, we are privileged to have a God who told us not to be anxious about tomorrow. Our hope for a brighter tomorrow appears vivid. Thank you Tafadzwa for such enlightenment.

    1. Yes, I agree our hope for the future is bright when we trust God who holds the future. Mark Twain states that worrying is like paying a debt you do not owe. When we worry we are taking everything in our hands we are saying we have 100% control. We keep our hope and as Samuel Smiles states” Hope is like the sun which as we journey toward it, it casts the shadow of our burden behind us.” Yes we do our part as in planning for the future and working towards implementing the plan as we trust God to do that which we can’t do.
