In various parts of the world, we are entering the spring season of the year. For those who have come through the challenges of winter, spring represents not just a changing of the seasons but also the dawn of a new time of the year.
There is the newness of nature coming back to life after the long effects of the winter cold. Newness that ushers in the opportunity of beginning fresh growth.
I’m reminded of a saying that I heard as a child. “Spring showers bring May flowers.” I admit that as a child I found myself taking this in the literal sense. That I believe was to be expected.
Showers denote the presence of rain. Rain that serves as a life force for the very earth that we live on. Rain that re-energizes and creates the foundation for new growth.
As the rain itself does for our earth, the thought comes to mind about those spring showers that have the potential to add to the growth in our everyday lives.
Showers that speak to the core of who we are. A shower as an example that would consist of hope. Hope that has been said springs eternal. Hope that even during the most trying of circumstances remains.
Vision. Vision that allows us to see what is not clear to the naked eye. Vision that is within us to the extent that we move forward in directions that even to our own eyes are not visible at times.
Patience. Patience, it has been said, is a virtue. A virtue that requires us to work and grow daily. Patience very often mandates that we don’t think of our now as being the end all be all, but that what is to come is worth the wait and will result in our satisfaction reaching its appointed destiny.
Spring Showers. For the nourishment of not just our planet itself but Spring Showers that are the gateway to the nourishment and renewal of each of us as human beings. How then will you receive the Spring Showers that await you?
