There is for each of us from the very second that we are born a running clock. A clock as such that moves forward regardless of our desires, whims, and fancies.

Time it has been said is indiscriminate. It functions within a realm that has its total commitment to moving forward with no thoughts of revisiting its past.

It has been said that there are a few things that we cannot reclaim. Words, actions and lost opportunities are said to be among those things we cannot redo.

I would suggest that as much as anything time is at that very top of any list as it relates to something that we cannot reclaim.

“Time waits for no one.” Words that each of us have heard at various points in our lives.

As we deal with the presence of time the questions and challenges that stand before us may vary.

Am I to merely be an observer of time as it moves forward daily? Am I to be on the outside looking in? Am I finding myself looking at what was and not giving thought to what may be?

The gift of time avails itself to each of us. It does so on the condition that we are the stewards of that which we have been given. And with that gift comes choices.

To some their usage of this gift we call time will lead them to regard such a gift as a casual friend. That someone who is to be visited and touched base with whenever the mood requires.

For others their relationship with time will be such that it is to be considered a close friend. Perhaps even to the point of family.

Closeness that denotes the importance of time itself. Closeness that creates within others a sense of urgency in recognizing that time truly has no regard for those who fail to appreciate its importance.

Life reminds us that tomorrow is not promised. Minute to minute is never assured. Therein lays the choice for each of us.

How do we regard this thing called time? How does each of us arrive at our individual moment of choice?

Daily results will be reflected by each choice, Tomorrow’s outcomes will reflect that which we have chosen, and future legacies will affirm the choices that we indeed chose.
