For those who have grown up reading there are of course many different books, concepts and topics that are available to someone. Each of us has our favorites. Favorites that we grew up with and continue to hold fond memories of.

In some cases, those book concepts have been turned into movies. To that extent I think back to growing up and reading and then seeing movies about Treasures. Movies that often depicted the story of those who went in search of said treasures.

The imaginations were unlimited in terms of what those who were searching hoped to find. Would it be the finest jewels, would it be money that would last more than one lifetime, would it be the possibility of both and even more?

Invariably what would happen at the end of the search was that what was found was rewarding, but in some cases, it still did not satisfy what it was the individuals were looking for.

Our stories from our childhood quite often had deeper meanings that we may have realized at that time.

Treasures Among Us. Often, I find myself thinking back to those stories from my childhood. And often I have concluded that what those seekers were looking for wasn’t to be measured merely in those material things.

The road that each of us will at times find us as well seeking treasures. Treasures that yes, we may think are to be found in the material things. But this much is true. All that glitters isn’t necessarily gold.

The Treasures among us are if we were to stop and as they say smell the roses, in plain sight.

Treasures that come in the form of good health. Treasures that come by virtue of the families that surround us. Treasures that we are blessed by with the presence of friends who have been there for us and with us through the ups and downs this life has placed before us.

Treasures among us. Treasures that will not measure material, treasures that may not be visible to the eyes of the world, but treasures that are priceless because of how they have impacted and directed our lives while we are yet here.

What are the treasures among us that each of us can attest to? Treasures that we should be grateful for, never take for granted, and always remember to be thankful for.
