Here we are in the final three months of the year. To tell the truth, it seems like the beginning of the year was just a few days ago. I remember the elders always saying’ “the older you get, the faster time goes.” Oh, how true.
For each of us there have been many things that happened to us, for us and through us. And truth be told, those things more than likely fall into at least three categories” good, bad, or indifferent.
How we categorize what has happened to us is an individual choice. A choice that one person makes does not mean that it is the same for others.
For the good there is I would hope for a sense of appreciation for that which has been good. That which has been or is good provides us with a renewed sense that we are on the right road.
For that which was bad there is I would hope the realization that we are going to have rainy days that will dim at times our sunshine. It has been said that bad, things are a part of everyone’s life.
For that which has been indifferent we have an outlook that says well it was not good or bad but that has not had a major effect on us.
In all three there is the challenge that we must come to terms with. How will any of the three impact us not just for the moment but for the days to come?
The answer will lie within each of us. Will we be led to come to a standstill when things are good to soak in the moment to the point of becoming still?
Will we in those moments that are bad be led to think that we cannot go any further? The setback as such will we say this is the end point?
And will that which is indifferent lull us into a mold of feeling the need to slow down to the point of merely cruising along?
Our answers will vary. Our answer will be dependent on our beliefs and commitments. The answers will be reflected by our resolve, the answers will be initiated by our commitment, and our answers will be confirmed by our actions.
Where then does each of us stand? The answers will unfold as we reach the end of this year.
