There is a sense of excitement with the start of a new year. A fresh start.
It has been said that one of the alluring things about the word fresh is within its meaning. Fresh meaning that it is not just new but, in a sense, unspoiled. Untainted by internal or external influences. Fresh and ready to go forth. Going forth with anticipation of what lies ahead.
Each of us has gone through a lot of the previous 12 months. Some good and as well some bad. There were times when we didn’t even know what was coming next. But despite everything we made it to the start of the New Year. Thus, we have a fresh start.
As we go forth with our fresh start there are decisions to be made. How much of what was before do we bring with us? Is there the need to move forward untethered by our yesterdays? Or are there parts of yesterday that will determine potential outcomes of our fresh start?
Each of us will in time make decisions that impact on our fresh start. What remains as the turning point is what we decide to embrace and how we will move forward. For those are the choices that will lead us into the forthcoming year.
A fresh start also provides us with new perspectives. Perspectives that can open us up to new arenas that hold challenges that will shape us in ways we are yet to experience.
A Fresh Start. I’m given to call to mind a phrase that has been used in the cinema world, “Coming Attraction.”
Get ready. Be open-minded. Our next is coming soon. And coming with the foundation of a fresh start being a new beginning. The outcome is soon to unfold. The next chapter of the story is now waiting to be written.
